Getting to know our Saskatchewan Women Curlers

1. Name – Deborah Lozinski (not getting middle names out of this girl:)

2. Nicknames - Deb and Debbie if those count as Nicknames:)......I don't really have any crazy nicknames - usually people call me Debs, Debbers, Debbo

3. Who do you curl with – Chantelle Eberle is my skip, Nancy Inglis plays third, Allison Slupski is second, and I play lead.

4. How long have you guys curled together? This is our second year together, I have curled with Nancy for 4 years and Chantelle for 6 years.

5. Occupation – Purchasing Agent at SaskPower

6. Current Residence - Regina

7. Hometown - Regina

8. Family - Parents Allan & Carrie Ann Lozinski, Sister/Brother -in-law  Rod & Val Geiss.  2 adorable red headed nephews Logan (6) and Dylan (4) and my significant other - Sheldon

9. Tattoos? Yes - one little tattoo that my best friend and I got for her birthday a few years ago.  They are matching infinity symbols.

10. Favourite non-alcoholic drink - I would probably have to say ice tea - but then again I always have one cup of coffee in the morning to get me going.

11. Favourite alcoholic drink - I have to pick just one:) - All time favorite would be a Coors Lite and a side of Clamato:)

12. Favourite event to curl in?  I would probably have to say the Schmirler and Rocktoberfest.  Both spiels happen early in the year when everyone is excited to start curling.  It is also nice as they are at home here in Regina so we get a lot of family/ friend support.  I also enjoy curling in Playdowns as they are what you gear up for all year.  There is just that little bit extra hype for playdowns that make the events that much more exciting to compete in.

13. Which curler or team did you idolize growing up and why? Sandra Schmirler.  I started curling in 1990 and Sandra's team was so dominant throughout the decade - it just made it fascinating to watch on TV.  Not too mention a Saskatchewan Team representing Canada at the Olympics and capturing curling's first  gold medal as an official Olympic sport - doesn't get much better than that!

14. Of all the curlers past and present who would be the most entertaining curler and why?  I would have to say Guy Hemmings.  He has such a sense of witt and humour on the ice - and maybe it is his disheveled appearance half the time that makes him fun and kind of "kooky" to watch.

15. Let’s get to know your teammates quickly by using Strawberry Shortcake!
Chantelle would be Strawberry Shortcake cause she is our ring leader, keeps us organized, and "calls the shots".
Nancy is a mixture of Banana  Candy and Peppermint Fizz - a hard worker, smart, perceptive, full of information and sometimes a little bratty:)
Allison would be Ginger Snap - excellent at strategy, knows the game well, and has the best "one liners."
I guess I would be Lime Chiffon and Angel Cake - bubbly and fairly social mixed in with being a bit of a perfectionist.
