SWCT Curling Talk (February 15)

Did you know???
The last time both Saskatchewan Junior Teams were in the national final was in 2003, and both ended up winning as well.

Junior Women's Canadian Championship
Calgary, Alberta
Trish Paulsen finished the round robin 9-3, and went on to beat Manitoba in the Semi-Final and then Alberta in the Final.

Prince Albert  Curling Club, Saskatchewan
Merle Kopach and Susan Lang were the last qualifiers for Senior Women's Provincials.

12. Favourite event to curl in?  Scotties, but I also enjoy the Schmirler Charity Classic and the Player's Championship as well as an honourable mention to the Ituna Ladies dress-up funspiel!
13. Which curler or team did you idolize growing up and why? Team Schmirler, but mostly Marcia Gudereit
14. Of all the curlers past and present who would be the most entertaining curler and why?   Heather Rankin, she is hilarious on and off the ice, no explanation needed!

SWCT Curling Talk (February 1)

Did you know???
All 12 teams at this years SaskPower Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts had a least one player that has represented Saskatchewan at a National event.

Indian Head Curling Club, Saskatchewan
Deb Thierman and Linda Kloschinsky were the latest qualifiers for Senior Women's Provincials.



January 26 - 30, 2011
SaskPower Scotties Tournament of Hearts
Outlook, Saskatchewan
The Amber Holland team repeated as the SaskPower Scotties Tournament of Hearts Champion and will go on to represent Saskatchewan in Prince Edward Island. Holland had to go the long way and play a tie-breaker against Debbie Folk. They then went on to beat Mandy Selzer in the quarter-final, and then they defeated Cindy Ricci in the semi-final. In the final Holland was able to defend her title and won against Stefanie Lawton. Selzer also like Holland had to come through a tie-breaker and had to beat Michelle Enlgot to make playoffs.
