WELCOME TO THE 2012-2013 CURLING SEASON EVERYONE!
Women's curling has gotten well underway this week, with the first major events of the season taking place September 13-16th, 2012. Results from this weekend are:
The Shoot-Out
Edmonton, AB
Participating Sask teams included Stefanie Lawton, Amber Holland, and Brett Barber. Both Lawton and Holland qualified out of the B event, while Barber fell out of the C event on Friday evening. Lawton advanced to the semi-final, losing 3-2 to Alberta's Crystal Webster. She takes home $2000, while Holland suffered a 6-1 loss to Cathy Overton-Clapham of Manitoba in the first playoff round. Holland pockets $1500 for the event.

Important Dates to Remember
- Event organizers must register their SWCT event by October 15th, 2012. Emailgerry@curlingzone.com. http://www.curling.ca/ctrs-trials/2012-2013-ctrs-events-women/
- The deadline for teams to register for CTRS points is October 31, 2012. Go to http://teams.curlingzone.com/index.php?task=Register to register. CTRS is free, is used to seed events, and to keep track of the points for the provincial points race. To verify that your team is registered, go to http://www.curling.ca/ctrs-trials/2012-2013-ctrs-standings-women/ to view this year's complete list of teams.
- To vie for the CTRS and SWCT provincial spot, all participants must be affiliated members of the SCA. Team rosters must be declared on a SCA Playdown Registration Form. Competition Fee including the CCA fee must be paid to the Region Director, or the SCA Office by, November 1, 2012. Points accumulated prior to November 1, 2012 will count only if fees and forms are submitted to the Region Director or the SCA office by November 1, 2012. If registrations are received after November 1, 2012, only points obtained from the date of receipt of registration will be eligible.

- Entry deadline for Junior Women's Q-Spiels are 6:00 PM, the Monday prior to the start of the bonspiel. (as per the SCA website)
- Please refer to SCA website for the entry deadline for the Senior Women's Q-Spiels.
- Junior Women's Open North/South playdown deadline is 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 (as per the SCA website).
- The entry deadline for the Women's Natural Ice Provincials is 12:00 PM, January 2, 2013 (as per the SCA website).
- The entry deadline for the Master Women's Provincials is 12:00 PM, Tuesday, February 5, 2013(as per the SCA website).
- The entry deadline for the Juvenile zone playdowns is 12:00 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 (as per the SCA website).
- For the Dominion Women's Playdowns you will need to contact your local region director with regards to the entry deadline. All regions are to be determined by February 24, 2013 (as per SCA website). Please note the new provincial format.
