SWCT Curling Talk (January 18)

This years five SWCT events had different winners (Brandee Borne, Cindy Ricci, Penny Barker, Chantelle Eberle, and Robyn Silvernagle)

January 6-10, 2011
Junior Women's Provincial Championship
Nipawin Curling Club, Saskatchewan
Trish Paulsen went through the round robin undefeated, and meet Rachel Fritzler in the first semi-final and final who was 4-1 in the round robin. It came down to an extra end, where Paulsen was victorious. Hayley Unrau advanced to the playoffs with a 4-1 record as did Ashley Skjerdal who was 3-2. Unrau defeated Skjerdal in the quarter-final but then lost to Fritzler in the second semi-final.

SaskPower Provincial Natural Ice Championship
Osage Curling Club, Saskatchewan
Marna Allan won the AB playoff over Carmen Norrish.

Northern Women's Playdowns
Tisdale Curling Club, Saskatchewan
Patty Hersikorn won the "A" event over Tina Hill. Winning the "B" event was Robyn Silvernagle over Shellan Baranieski. And winning the "C" events were Darlene Gillies and Debbie Folk over Hill and Baranieski respectively.

Michelle Englot won the "A" event over Mandy Selzer. Winning the "B" event was Cindy Ricci over Selzer. And winning the "C" events were Mandy Selzer and Samantha Yachiw over Chelsey Peterson and Susan Lang respectively.

Lee Morrison and Darlene Gillies were the latest qualifiers for the Senior Women's Provincials.

December 16 - 18, 2010
Canada Games Women's Qualifier
Saskatoon CN Curling Club, Saskatchewan
Rae Ann Williamson was the clear winner with a 5-1 record and will now go on to represent Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games to be held in Halifax February 11-27, 2011. Danielle Bertsch was second at 4-2, Jessica Hanson had a 3-3 record, and Ashley Skjerdal finished at 0-6.
