SWCT Curling Talk [February 26th]

EVENTS FROM THE LAST TWO WEEKS

Scotties Tournament of Hearts Canadian Women's Championships
Kingston, ON
February 16-24, 2013
Saskatchewan was represented by Jill Shumay, Kara Johnston, Taryn Holtby and Jinaye Ayrey.  These ladies had a terrific showing, finishing just shy of the playoffs with a round robin record of 6-5.  Congratulations on a great week!

Affinity Credit Union Senior Women's Provincial Championships
Martensville, SK
February 20-24, 2013
Congratulations to Cathy Inglis and team on winning this event! Inglis finished the round robin with a 6-1 record, putting her in first place and giving her a bye to the final game.  Also qualifying for playoffs were Lorraine Arguin, who also finished 6-1 but had lost to Iglis in the round robin.  Arguin lost a close semi-final game to Merle Kopach with a final score of 9-8.  Kopach finished third in the round robin with a record of 4-3.  She lost the final to Inglis, with a score of 8-2.

Inglis will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Senior Women's Championships in Summerside, PEI from March 16-24, 2013.  Good luck ladies!

Dominion Women's Provincial Championships
Rosetown, SK
March 8-10, 2013
The winner of this event will represent Saskatchewan at the national Dominion Curling Club Championships in Thunder Bay, ON from November 18-23, 2013.

SWCT Curling Talk [February 12th]

EVENTS FROM THE LAST TWO WEEKS

M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Women's Championship
Fort McMurray, AB
February 2-10, 2013
Saskatchewan representative Jessica Hanson finished shy of the playoffs with a record of 5-5 overall.  Hanson finished the preliminary round robin in a four-way tie for third place with 3-3 records.  She beat Newfoundland in a tie-breaker to advance to the championship round, where she ended on a high note beating Quebec 9-3.  Congratulations girls on a well-played week!
